Starting the Dreaded Car Shopping; Lusting After the Scion FR-S
We’re gonna sell the Smart. It was a mistake to bring it to Costa Rica – living on a dirt road as we do. Its fun and all that, we love the attention it brings whenever we drive it, and it’s a great conversation starter. But the narrow wheelbase and small tires combined with the shortness means that it’s a rough rider.
But it’s great for buzzing around town on “good” asphalt. We chose to drive it to San Jose when we don’t need to make a major shopping journey.
But… it’s time for us to part company.
We have a pretty good lead on a buyer, so I’m starting the daunting task of searching for a replacement.
Today I am lusting after a Scion FR-S… not the boxy Scion you’re thinking of. Although this baby would be a blast…
Found this infographic that traces its heritage.
Brought to you by the all new Scion FR-S
Co-inkydink? I think not. It’s a copy cat! But more affordable.
The FR-S’s lines look remarkably similar to the Aston Martin DB-9.

I think you need a Subaru WRX Sti. Similar power and size but AWD and, uh, you might let me drive it. (Pat says that’s the only way I’ll ever be behind the wheel of one.)
When I win the lottery I will have a dozen different fun cars. You can drive any of them as long as I’m not.
I’ve been looking at a rather different style of cars. I think I’m going to get a Mustang, although the Challenger is still a possibility.
I think the Challenger is a great looking car. I drove a Magnum for a number of years. Fast car. Chrysler transmissions are notoriously bad however.
