Things are starting to equal out… inches of rain is at parity with the number of hitchhikers we have given rides to Atenas.

We had 10 3/8 inches of rain here on the Sedolsoder side of the mountain. Biggest rains came in a two day stretch when April and Pete were here… totaled 4.5 inches.

We’ve now made the full transition to rainy season. Just about everyday it will rain. Usually the morning starts of glorious with full sun and blue skies and a breeze. Then about 2 p.m. the clouds will roll in from the west and rain can come within ten minutes. The rains will last about an hour then change to being “clouded” in… the cloud closes around us and lingers and it gets very quiet. About sunset (6 pm these days) the clouds will lift and the lights in the valley become visible. Cat and Jim visited for a couple weeks and Jim observed that it did rain everyday. Sometimes just a trace… but rain nevertheless.

But there are those days where the clouds stay and crawling under the sheets at night means crawling into dampness. Humidity will be in the mid 80s. Very damp. Nothing dries. Those days will become more prevalent until the dry season arrives.

Thunder-boomers are becoming more frequent also. A couple storms have been pretty cringe-worthy from a light-show and noise standpoint. We unplug and brace.

Some mold problems this year, a first for us. We attack it with vim and vinegar.

We gave rides to eleven people during the month. About 11 inches of rain to 11 hitchhikers.
