Disney World Has Always Been for Big Kids.
The Rearview Mirror reaffirmed one of our gut feelings about boomer travel. Ditch the kids if you want to really have fun.
A couple weeks ago, they discovered a study by top notch research firm Yankelovich, Inc. that half – HALF – the visitors to Walt Disney World are adults with no kids. Most likely DINKS (Dual Income, No Kids – except I think in that demographic description it refers more to people who never had kids.)

I just wanted to tell you that twice, we have stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge just to watch giraffes. (One time was an anniversary trip!) We got up in the middle of the night to see giraffes in the moonlight, slept late, hung around for the mid-day feeding, and then headed to a theme park.
Here’s where The Rearview Mirror and I agree:
We are okay with acting in accordance to the way we feel, doing the things we like to do with no thought to what we should or shouldn’t be doing at our age.
@Jessie: We have had more fun at WDW without kids! Eating places? Gotta disagree with you. (Unless you are talking about hotels.) I think it’s pretty ordinary stuff. But that’s OK, I want fast, fast, fast, to get out where the fun is!
Well, I bring my kids to Disney World, but I have to admit that I love as much (or more) than they do. Disney World is DEFINITELY not just for kids. Its worth the trip just for all of the wonderful places to eat, yummm!
