Woo Woo, hum-ma-na, hum-ma-na
My wife has a younger friend who had breast augmentation. I don’t see her often enough to know if she really needed them or not. When I was told of the surgery, I asked why, and was told that “she really needed them.” I guess she had a chest like her fathers, not her mothers.
So the surgery is complete and she is in the process of healing.
When I see her the next time, what should my reaction be?
A. None, pretend like nothing changed?
B. Make an innocuous comment like, “hey, you look nice.”
C. Tease the heck out of her, “wow, what big gazongas!”
BTW: I am assuming I see her for the first time with my wife. I think that makes a difference, don’t you?
I’m debating between B and C. A is out because,after all, she spent a lot of money to look better right? It’s not like she had the hump removed from her back.
I asked my wife and she’s not sure either. She and her friend have been very open about having it done, dealing with her co-workers, and healing.

Clarification: Joy is sleep deprived and saw a D choice where there was none. She chose B. 🙂

I should apologize for my redneck sophomoric reaction (but I don’t really want to!). Sorry, i couldn’t resist. It is obvious that your effort at proper boobiquette is sincere. The Savvy Boomer is correct and you should make a nice non-specific comment. When a woman has breast augmentation, her waist naturally looks smaller and it appears that she has lost weight. Telling a woman that it appears she has lost weight is always a good thing!
Mark – I don’t remember JFK because I was born in July ’63, but I do agree that remembering the ugly can be a good thing too. It reminds us of the advances made in medicine, technology and industry.

Joy, huh? I’m confused. Anyway, she works in a conservative office during the week and is a biker chick on the weekend. So she has a good sense of humor.
I’d go with B, nice middle of the road comment.
I recently met a female friend I hadn’t seen for a couple of years and realized immediately the she had had a reduction. I couldn’t believe it-they were spectacular before. I didn’t say a word but when we hugged she just laughed when I didn’t give her my normal bear hug and said “It’s OK, I’ve still got more than most women, you still can’t crush them.”
I was speechless. So perhaps your friend will make some kind of comment herself. Who knows? I realized a long time ago to expect the unexpected from the fair sex.
My tendency is to go with “C” Mark…especially if you don’t know her that well. If you knew her better and what kind of sense of humor she had….well, “D” might work then.

My wife and I have a mutal friend that got an enlargement…I teased that I wanted before and after shots! She didn’t do it, but you never know…they are awfully proud of them or they wouldn’t get it done.
