Derailing the Grand Funk Railroad — 8 Comments

  1. @Kirk: thanks. I’m running into a lot of 404’s and I don’t see any improvement in speed. So this is still beta? Then what the hell am I doing? I don’t like beta anything. I’ll probably run it for a few more days and then uninstall.

I do miss the Firefox addons.

  2. Chrome? I think it’s the minimalist’s browser of choice and once Google gets the extension framework in place (sometime in May they say) so you can add Firefox like add-ons it will give IE and Firefox a run for their money.

I run the latest “Dev” channel builds. Nice and fast. I just can’t stand all the ads on the websites (no AdBlock Plus).

I’d get on on the “Beta” channel for updates to Chrome rather than the “official” (stable) channel at least so you can get a better idea of all the functions and features that the “Official” version you installed doesn’t have yet (the official build gets updated once in a blue moon)). Shoot me an email and I’ll show you where you can get the Chrome updates “Channel chooser”.

The “Avant” browser has been around for quite awhile now. It’s basically an IE dependent browser in that it uses Internet Explorer’s rendering engine and wraps a completely new interface around it. Has an ad blocker built into it. Whatever version of IE version you have installed is the rendering engine that it uses to power Avant. Windows only I’m afraid.

  3. Yeah, build the Swedish Chef iPhone App and you’re set for life.

Since you’re here and fairly lucid, I just installed Chrome. What are your impressions? And who/what is Avant? Was recommended. I never heard of Avant.

  4. So I guess it’s time to roll over and pass on then? Damn! And here I was doing my best to hang on long enough to see how the younger set handles the horrible mess we caused.

Hell, I may have been born during the end of the period that spawned the so-called baby boomer generation but I did my best to make up for lost time by working twice as hard to screw things up for future generations to come.

Now, after all that effort, I’d just like to sit back, relax and see what this clever and oh-so smarter generation can come up with to make things worse.

    I mean, make tings better.
