Fame and Fortune Called. I Said I Would Call Back.
Just before the end of the year, I predicted five things would happen to me in 2008.
One was that I would become a star.
Fame and Fortune called me today.
Because I am a huge skeptic, I told Fame and Fortune I would have to call them back.
It was one of those “out of the blue” calls. Jack was calling from CRN Networks. I would be asked three questions, the first two would be fairly easy, but the third would be a “Jeopardy” type question. If I missed that question, I would lose all what I would have won up to that point. ($125)
Never having heard of CRN Networks, I asked for a phone number to call them back. He quickly gave me the number, 818-352-7152.
He said something to the effect that I probably wouldn’t have time to call them back and make it on air. I could go on the air with him in a few seconds, or they could move on to the next person.
“Move on.”
Within a minute or so of hanging up, I get this email:
In fact, we are a nationwide radio network on Time Warner reaching more than 11 million households daily.
As requested, we will remove your name from our data base and will not call you again.
Thanks for your time.

Thanks Jack, but it’s your loss. I have a great radio voice. I’m sorry I didn’t get the chance to win $500, but I’d just blow it on blog upgrades. What you missed was the opportunity to hear the dulcet tones of GoingLikeSixty.

I’m sorry for the both of us. I really want to be a star. I know others that have star quality that I could bring to the fold. We could have built a dynasty together.

Anyhoo, yeah, I figured he would want my bank account and routing number. But I guess not.
