Wow! Boomers Art Cars Are Weird and Wonderful

Rex and the Mobile Masticator – Chewbaru
Know about Art Cars? It’s a weird hobby that is mostly dominated by baby boomers. An art car is a vehicle that has had it’s looks modified to reflect the whims of the owner… usually referred to as the “cartist.”
Rex is a cartist that recently visited Atenas and introduced me to the weirdness of art cars. He owns the Chewbaru. His car is a 1995 Subaru covered with:
- 70 lbs of dentures and partials
- 70 lbs of dental impressions
- dozens of empty toothpaste tubes
- toothbrushes
- dental tools
- other dentistry items
(The antlers on the hood are what’s left of a deer that crashed into the Chewbaru four days after it hit the road.)
Why do boomers dominate this hobby? Because they are weird? Maybe, but also because they have the time and money to spend on this unusual hobby.
